The first Australian Pastel Expo will be held at Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from 13 to 16 September 2018. See https://www.australianpastelexpo.com.au/. The event will include workshops, demonstrations, paint-outs, plein air
sessions and Master Pastellist exhibitions.
I am hoping to attend as pastels are one of my favourite mediums to work in, particularly for pet and human portraits. Here is an example of one of my pastel pieces which uses an acrylic underpainting. As they say “Come and Get Dusted!”
